- In my own words:

I find modern Japanese art and culture fascinating, including manga and anime. I’m quite adept at drawing in the manga style, albeit I tend to take my time with it so that it doesn’t look sloppy, and I personally prefer the style of Kiyohiko Azuma, writer of Azumanga Daiou. My main hobby is creative writing, which I’ve been doing since 1977 (back when I was a kid, yes ^_^). I also like watching historical documentaries and reading scientific articles, so I’m a bit of a nerd. My favorite form of music is heavy metal, including black metal bands (long-haired Norwegians wearing grayish kabuki make-up on stage and growling like Popeye).
I once lived in the Kantou region, primarily in Chiba-ken, for five years, and I plan on returning to Japan one day. I worked as an English teacher in Japan, including teaching science in English, but I’m currently switching my career to technical writing, a profession I feel better suited to.
